I assume your talking about the switches in the head liner? If so there should be 4 from factory, master light switch, dash lights, cold start assist, and rear wiper. The extra one might be for lights mounted on the two sides of the nose if they were added. I think there pretty handy have 6 of the 8 filled on my 9270.
