Subject: 2005 Cummins ISX


Morris, Mb.		I am going to look at a 2005 IH 9400. It has a 2005 Cummins ISX motor in it. The owner is telling me that this is a pre EGR motor. I can not find out on line if this is indeed the truth or not. Would a 2005 have EGR on it? If so, where would I look at the motor to double check.

SW North Dakota

It does have a EGR.  Right side near the front, behind the alternator.

Mount Vernon, WA		All Cummins ISX engines built for over-the-road trucks after October 2002 have EGR.

NWND		he probably means its a pre DPF engine i believe started sometime in 2007
