West central Ohio | Two neighbors that no-till with CIH planters grind the firming point off their new planters. Say it smears and seals the bottom of seed trench. Years ago, I used to used the firming point on Deere planter in conventional till, but took them off when started no-tilling. Saw the same smearing. Really showed if planted when a little heavy and then turned dry.
