Subject: RE: CIH - RID gauge wheels

Arva, Ontario

Bob,
We converted our old 8 row over to the full Martin including the RID tires. When the planter went down the road, we moved the hardware over to the Kinze, but didn't put RID tires on...  I don't miss them. In damp ground, I think we had sidewall lifting. In dry ground in our fall made strip, we had seed trench collapse ahead of the Keetons which made for erratic emergence - IMO.

For sure, if the gauge wheels are coming off, I'd put them back on with RK kits.

Best counsel - being as you have the parts - convert 6 rows back to standard - take it to yield.

Ken
