Subject: RE: Fifth wheel plate to low

Good Ol' East Texas
Oh come on. They have been using tubing for years on silage trucks to raise the fifth wheel. Silage trucks are one of the most abused trucks and haven't seen one break yet. Those trucks are almost always overweight and sometimes being dragged through the mud with one or two 4wd tractors pulling. And the trailer is the one buried past the axles so a lot of force being applied to the fifth wheel. Also if it was that bad then the dot would make it illegal and you wouldn't pass inspection.
