Is there anyone that manufactures something similar to this for sale that someone could just buy? I'm not sure I have the skill or desire to build one.. Anything that allows it to pivot out over the tailgate would be good.

I like the idea of have the tools so easy to reach. I hope the outer end of the tool box is well supported when it is folded into the truck bed or unfolded over the tail gate. You a putting a lot of load on the corner of the bed if the tool box is not supported.

Those couple links below were very good rigs, seemed like they would hold up to anything short of a vehicle accident. I'm just not crafty enough or don't have the perfect tools probably for making one that would function as well as those and was hoping someone offered one commercially.

Link to pictures of unit that sits a little higher to fold a little more above the wheel well (possibly a larger box?).

I load my truck so the CPL sits just inside the tail gate, then drop tail gate and open tool box, most tools then laid out on the tail gate or in a light duty tray to take to a machine...To each his own but I wouldn't benefit by the CPL being over the tail gate.

Something with some form of casters on the outer end, I think I will add some sort of spring and maybe a urethane wheel. Now THIS I can build. Sweet... Thanks.

This is one that I put together this fall for my truck. Jobox on the bottom with a generic Monetzuma on top. What a time saver to have all the tools in one place, organized and dry!

Here's what I did last year, man I love this thing! Can unload the bed of my truck in just a few minutes with a forklift and be pulling a gooseneck if I want to.

It's a model Hurricane 200 from Spring Creek Products. They are in Northern catalog, but sell direct cheaper.

SEMOsandfarmer,

I built mine after seeing yours when we picked up the Crop Sweeper corn reel this fall. Thanks for the idea!

Mine is the "LITE" version.

I built mine out of angle iron, a 4 bolt flange bearing holder, 1 3/4" self aligning bearing, and a piece of 1 3/4" shaft. It sits right beside the passenger side wheel well and when I rotate it it comes out just over the tailgate. I used 3 steel chain tightners for rollers on it.

I am planning on doing the exact same thing. My old one has a chest tool box in the front and then an aircompressor and montezuma box mounted on a pallet. It has worked great but a chest in the front is impossible to keep organized and thats why I was thinking about doing a packrat instead. What brand is your toolbox? It doesn't look like a packrat.

I want to know your guy's height! There is no way I can reach all my tools over the boxsides of a F250-350.

Mine and Don's both are Jobox brand made by Delta. I got mine off the Northern Tool website.

Here's the one I have, the description is mine for sure, they even have my pictures on the page but their stock photo appears to be a 12" deep box, looks deeper than mine for sure.

ihmanky- I believe this company has what your looking for. The only problem you might have is it doesn't sit very low in the bed of the pick up. I would have gone this way but I didn't want mine sitting up that high..... Hope this solves your problem

Thanks for that. I don't know if I don't like the height either.. I sure don't like the price tag.. I can't see paying for the box again just to mount it... I'm leaning more toward the skid idea with the compressor and hose reel mounted to it.
