I wish I could have gone on a harvest run, I know it would be the experience of a lifetime!
I went when I was 21. Was at my grandparents house on their computer looking at harvesters and thinking I wanted to go. My dad said the exact same words "I wish I would have gone on wheat harvest"... That made up my mind and I made the call and got a job with a great group of guys. Loved every minute of it. Made lots of friends and made a little money too.
The guys I went with later on we're featured in the second 2000 Mile Harvest movie.
I had a job lined up in Australia the same fall and winter but backed out. I do regret not going and wish to this day that I had done it. Can't and won't ever get the chance but at least I lived out one of my dreams. |
