Dalton, OH

Actually putting 2 fertilizers on with the planter.  The large tank on the planter and the trailer hold 28%N and we put that on through the Deere openers running rates from 10-20 gallons per acre.  The small tank on the planter holds 5-15-15 with micros from All-Plant that we run at 5-10 gallons per acre.  Goal is to plant 50 acres/fillup.  Sometimes in smaller fields or wet conditions, we unhook the trailer and plant less acres per fill-up.  Our fields range from 350 acres in a field to 2 acres/field.  Also running most of Precision Planting's equipment on the planter.  The Air Force is using an electric compressor setup, but since that doesn't work very well we plumb it to the tractor's air system to supply the air for the Air Force as well as the row clutches. Switched to a 16-row for 2013 and will be running a similar setup, but changing the tanks around a little.

The side-dress rig does utilize the same tank as the planter.  Its a little big for the planter, but just right for the side-dresser.  We built the side-dresser ourselves using an old Deere 12-row culitvator and Blu-Jet fertilizer openers.
