w/c Illinois | To expound on my reply above, perfect alignment does not mean that the pto drive shaft itself has to be straight. It means that if you drew a line through the rotational center of the tractor pto output shaft and another line through the input shaft on the generator, and extended both lines to infinity, they would never cross. It's okay if the input and output shafts are offset from one another somewhat, and the amount of acceptable offset is determined mainly by the length of the pto drive shaft and somewhat by the depth of the yolks on the u-joints. | |
