Subject: RE: ice scraper for the yard?

Floyd County, Iowa
Don't know if this is a possibility for you, but I have an old 3 pt blade that I use on the back of the loader tractor for grading the yard and driveway. About 10 years ago, I took the straight/flat bit off. I went to the county maintenance shed and talked to the guys there about the ice bits they use on the graders. They had changed some out recently, and told me to grab what I needed from the scrap pile. I bolted them in place of the regular bit. Does a good job on ice, especially when you cut through into gravel. Does a great job leveling off gravel. Kinda works like a comb on the fresh gravel. If you have a blade, might be a possibility.
They had changed out the crossbars from the grader tire chains, too, as they were wearing thin. Got them, too. Took off the heavy, rough riding X'ed cross bars from my chains and made a good set of road chains by putting their crossbars on my chain.
my 2 cents
