NECIL | My wife manages the farrowing at a sow farm and they have both pens and gestation stalls and I can tell you that the sows in the gestation stalls are in much better condition. They don't fight every morning over feed or everyday for that prime spot to lay down or for the waterer. The sows in the gestation stalls don't have scrapes and bruises from fighting each other. They are in better condition because they get the proper amount of feed to eat to keep them at a healthy weight. Those are facts that I see when I help her and my BIL feed them on the weekends.
I was raised to be respectful of others, but I was also raised to call a space a spade.
