We have some big oaks but I was surprised by one that fell in one of our fields we just cleaned up, it was barely 2' in diameter and I counted 143 growth rings....so close together they were hard to count. Must have lived a hard life, crazy when you stop and think that tree sprouted not long after the Civil War!
