This one grew in a creek bottom, on the edge of a wet-weather meander of the creek. So it had both moisture *and* drainage/oxygen to the roots, which is likely why it got that big in 95 years--a low-stress environment.
I had considered trying to get the logs sawn out, but the center 20" or so has fungus in it and isn't completely solid. So...firewood.
