Subject: Re: John Deere 4630

Danville, Illinois
I just bought one this fall. Sold my 4430 to buy it. My 4430 was turned up to 140hp and it would run a little hot. The 4630 has 1000 hours on a new re-manufactured engine. I had plenty of HP but lacked traction. 18.4-42 radial rears with duals. I am going to add Rim Guard ballast to the inside rear tires to help with traction. It does run cooler than my 44 did. So far I like it. I would be leery of one that has been turned up past 160hp. they have had an issue with flywheel bolts breaking but usually when they are turned up to 180+ and pulled hard.
