Subject: Organic Matter Going Down In No-Till

We've been no-tilling/strip-tilling for 12 years and have been using a ton of poultry manure on corn stalks and 2-3 tons of poultry manure on bean stubble. We got the results back from our grid sampling and our organic matter has gone down about 0.5% - 0.75% from 5 years ago. The soil test was taken using a 6 inch core and by the same company as previous years. The moisture was perfect for the tests as well. I've talked to some other area no-tillers seeing the same thing. Does anyone have an explanation? TIA
