My preference is to keep depth on laterals the same all the time. We shoot for 28 inches of cover on a 4 inch tile. Sometimes means you need extra sub mains but I think a system like this works better than just plowin through hills to get longer runs.
We install most mains with 3-3.5 ft of cover unless needed to be deeper to hit another hole or get through a hill.
