Subject: Anybody read the article in NE frmer magazine bout feeding cattle?

Saronville NE
Was reading thru NE farmer last nite and read an article bout how cattle feeders cant compete with income and time use as row crop farmer, article stated a neighbor quit feeding cattle 36 yrs ago and siad he couldnt beleive how much more money and time he had vs feeding cattle, another neighbor tried to prove hom wrong and finally quit last year and says the old boy was right. Ok my question is I feed cattle, 95% of the time it has been profitble over the years, what the article says might be right, but to me I making money and the chance to rent ground or buy ground vs feeding more cattle is a easy choice for me, I wont work on the margins that presently you would work on with $500 cash rent or the risk, and dont have the money for DP on $12k ground, so just keep working and feeding cattle I quess. Do you feel the article is right? I mean now with $7 corn it pry is but do you feel it has been this way for 36 years? I dont.
