Subject: RE: FM and RM rigs?

SW Minnesota
The rigs are interchangeable - I've done it before.

If you are going from a 4020 to a 4055 you will have to "tweak" some of the shank placement because there is a bit more "elbow room" under a 4020 than there is under a 4055. Your visibility will also be reduced because of the battery boxes being in your line of sight for the rows closest to the tractor. Deere did make a "Battery Box Relocation Kit" for the cab tractors. I have never seen one of these and it would probably be impossible to find one. You can see what it consists of on the JDParts website in the FM parts pages but the main part of the kit is no longer available.

If you have a JD 7200, 7400, 7210 or 7410 2WD tractor, this cultivator can be made to fit on them also with some slight modifications. The visibility and maneuverability of these tractors vs. a 30, 40, 50 or 55 Series tractor with a front-mount cultivator is a night-and-day difference!
