McLeod County, MN | Channel 196-06. Will beat 48-12 all day long and has terrific emmergence and is gonna cost way less. I have heard Channel 195-22 is a great sand corn too. They are 96 and 95 day corns. Both will be cheaper than DK and have pretty good drought tolerance with fantastic emergence for your no-till. If you have some better ground Channel 197-68 (197-67 last year) really yielded high and won quite a few plots around here this year.
If you are dead set on Dekalb I would go with 46-20 before 48-12. I have never liked the ear flex on 48-12, especially if you have little soil and population. Try a few bags of the Channel, split the planter with some dekalb. You wont be disappointed. | |
