Dalton, OH | I agree with Ed. Our farm raised winter barley for many years for hog feed. It will do 100-125 bu+, but if you are going for the top grain yield, don't use it as a nurse crop and expect to get much as it will lodge and choke out the crop underneath. If you are really having a bad day, it might even grow up through the lodged barley and make it impossible to harvest!! I have no expierence with spring barley and that may be a whole different ball game. |
