| I'll agree and disagree with you on that one. If they child is right and has documented proof then the teacher needs corrected. I think that the child needs to have a discussion with their teacher about the 10 points and be offered a chance to prove there really is such a creature. Something so easily verifiable doesn't fall into "life isn't fair". It's a matter of being factually accurate.
l will agree with you that far too many parents tend to think their kid is perfect and get defensive from the start if Johnny or Susie doesn't knock down 100% on some silly project. Being called in essence a liar and having your assignment knocked down a full letter grade for it deserves some sort of diplomatic discussion.
