S.E. Iowa		6 years ago some rabbit hunters found 7 pups left in a field to die, brought them to the hospitol where my wife works, being 2 weeks till xmas all were adopted in hours. They were somekind of heeler, ausie cattle dog mix and mine at least has turned out to be the best stock dog you could ask for. The point is there are alot of dogs in pounds this time of year, maybe not pure bred but good working dogs with a little training. Try looking there first.
