Ok
To save you doing a search I pulled these out of the mass of links.

I really do not have much to comment on. I Agree there was no way there would have been a detonation. That just does not happen as long as you follow the check list.

McNamara was an idiot in 1961 and just as big an idiot in 1983.

I was pleased to read of at least one other surviving member of the crew. He, the Co Pilot and I would be the only ones that are not WWII survivors. There are few of those left.

Unlike many embarrassing incidence this was one of the few that did not terminate everyone's carrier. The Squadron Commander retired as a Lt General, so it did not hurt him any. I went on to an interesting career that I found very rewarding. Most of it as a B-52 Crew Member.

On my own I picked up a Private, Commercial, Instrument, & Instructor's ratings to be able to fly as a pilot. No problem Mine was the best position on a B-52's crew. I was never one to sit and watch TV.

It is all in your attitude.

WOW!......what a story! For me, I think the most frighting part would be the bail out from a uncontrollable aircraft and then in the darkness of night, where or what am I going to land on. Thank you for the informative links and for your time in service. If you could comment on one more item, why did the one pilot not have an ejection seat? Thanks again, Larry
