Thanks for your response. Always good to hear stories about the B52. If you don't mine me asking, what happened to the airplane that you had to bail out? My time in the 57 were uneventful (that I knew about anyway), I had a pressure card and training that I received at Tyndall AFB in Florida but never got to ride the ejection seat there. If I had been forced to bail out, I probably could have done it but glad it never happened. I always heard that the ejection was very hard on the body if you were not totally prepared. A month after I got out of the Guards, one of our B57G's took in a bird on takeoff and the navigator (who was first in the sequence to bail) wasn't totally prepared and messed up his back for the rest of his life. Though I heard that he never was allowed to be a crew member again.
