| Had bad experience with no chopper on my 1480. No-tilled corn into bean stubble with Martin row cleaners which worked fine and shoved the straw out of the way. Corn was about 2 inches high when we got a day with a very strong wind and the straw was blown over the corn and covered. Had to get neighbors stalk chopper to try and uncover the corn. Only partially successful. No more of that, put a Redekop chopper on and cured that headache. Another plus - everything coming off the sieves goes into the chopper so no need for chaff spreader. Not cheap but for no-tilling nothing better. | |
