I can't remember the Alabama wheat specialists name, but her data was pushing very early planting dates. Much earlier than the average farmer will take. I guess one late freeze can hurt a lot more than 15 extra bushels in the three years between a late freeze.

I told the guys here, all you have at stake is a second bag of seed, and we can re evaluate if we try to make a wheat crop in January or just plan to kill it in March as cover crop. Was a simple way of thinking, but it hasn't rained since Oct 6. So its hard to get very optimistic. We planted the AGS number last week, and still have some acres to plant. 50 miles S of GA.
