If I am understanding this statement correctly, you're thinking backwards. By turning only one wheel the pinion count will be half, OR,,,,,, you have to turn one wheel two turns. i.e. If the tractor got stuck and only one wheel was spinning it would be spinning twice as fast as normal speed.

 Crap!!!  I think you are right. Dang dixlesica. Thanks for correcting that error.
