I can't believe anyone would want to read the data on my drives, but I just can't bear to let them into the wild. Maybe the older drives that required bios setting changes to be used might be safe to get rid of now?
I usually take an air chisel to them. No need to disassemble, just punch some holes through the disk portion itself. Some towards the outside, some towards the inside.
My old work had a tape degauser. That was pretty effective as well. |
