I like it. But, getting it killed early is a help. If you still have 50% green color, I'd recommend spraying glyphosate 2,4-D right away. This will give the residue time to break down and provide and smoother surface at planting.

Expect to be surprised at the weeds that show up. I've seen a lot of nutsedge and perenial vines show up after the sod is gone so be prepared.

Alot of folks think there is a hugh nitrogen benefit following hay but i haven't seen it. The bacterial that break down the residue need nitrogen to do that at a ratio of about 11:1 C:N. That won't affect beans that much because of inoculants but it eats a lot of applied nitrogen on corn.
