South Georgia | Thanks for the reply, Ed. I did some more searching after I posted this and came up with the following pinout for the 9 pin serial connection on the 500:
The DE-9 pinout on both the EZ-Guide 500 and Plus is:
1. Keypad alarm data 2. RS-232 Rx 3. RS-232 Tx 4. External Switch input 5. Ground 6. Keypad serial data 7. Keypad Clock 8. External Output (Radar Pulses) 9. Power (5 volts) to keypad

You don't reckon I could make a cable to connect the Sonalarm to 1 and 5 and achieve pretty much what you did with the EZ Steer cable you made?
