| Go to the Customer Support tab on Ebay and drill your way through the learning center, through how to buy and then to bid retraction. Before you finalize any retraction, or for that matter, any other action on Ebay it's always good to make sure that there won't be any detrimental results to your action, e.g., being prohibited from bidding again on the item, etc. I don't know about any specific negative consequences, I'm just giving you a heads-up.
ETA: When you get to the How to Buy help page you can shorten the drilling process by searching for "retract bid" in the "search the help pages" box.
