NC Indiana | We used 5'x3/8" hammer in (3# hammer) fiberglass post w/ the screw on white insulators from rural manufacturing every 35' this fall w/ 9 wire Gallagher poly wire w/ a T post every 6th post and T posts on the corners this fall. Deer didn't like it the first night as they tried to run through it pulled the insulators off 5 posts in a row, but haven't had a problem since and we're almost through gun season now. The posts are tall enough I can run a 2nd or 3rd wire if I wanted to, but the cows have left it alone. Had to drive in w/ some hay this week, so I just loosened the screw on insulators on 2 posts and drove in. I have plastic in-line tighteners also, but haven't needed them yet. Remember gloves it you go this route. | |
