Subject: Re: N on Soybeans

Lancaster, OH
Soybeans require 5# of N/bu. so there is a large requirement. That comes primarily from 2 sources: release of organic N from residue breakdown (later in the season) and N-fixing rhizobia. The results of added N in the form of fertilizers has been inconclusive. The litter thing makes more sense. BTW, Cullers also inoculates every acre.
