Farmington IL | The cows are all home and out on corn stalks and we have started to feed them. There are alot of ways to skin a cat, this is how we do it.
I feed them in a different spot everyday all winter long.
They dont seem to ever forget what happens when the tractor and mixer show up in the field. They come running everyday.
My number one helper and I stood on a bale and took pics of nick filling the mixer this morning.
This is my helper wrigley. He helps me feed everyday.
This is the bale processor. It gets alot of use this time of the year as we process all of the hay and stalks before they go in the mixer and we use it to bed sheds as well.
Even found some time last sunday afternoon to put up some christmas decorations.
We weaned calves on monday and they are still missing mom.
But when they arent staring at mom they have been eating really good.
These guys have been here a couple days helping out with a project.
They did some trenching and put a pump in a well.
We will put these in when the neighbor gets some concrete pads poured end of this week.
This is what a couple of cornstalk bales look like after they have been processed.
I saved the best for last........
Two weeks ago I spent a couple days plowing. Not much of this done anymore but more happening the last couple years.
Thats what we've been doing lately. Keeps us out of the taverns! | |
