Aside from the points regarding land being a tangible asset etc... Land investment has two potential income streams 1) Annual income (rent) and 2) Appreciation. These combined have a historical return of 10% according to ISU research of land values and rental rates. We may be peaking or we may not. If its a long term investment it will more than likely be a good one. I am sure land purchasers in the late 70's (who held on to their land) second guessed the purchase in the 80's, but they are not anymore.
