| Good afternoon, folks. Am a long-time reader but infrequent questioner; however, I would like the opinion of anyone who may have one to offer.
The quick story: Mrs Dr and I live on 20 acres in northeastern Kansas. Had a new neighbor move in next door (or what passes for next door) about a week ago. Neighbor is an active hunter; I’m not, though I don’t have anything against it.
Gun season starts here in a couple days, so I spent part of this last weekend putting up ‘no hunt/no trespass’ signs. Reason being, a hunter could easily walk across a back corner of our property (where we’ve seen 10-12 pointers) and shoot toward the house without realizing there’s actually a house there.
Mrs Dr is concerned that we have or will offend the new neighbors, that they’ll think the signs are directed at them. We plan on living here for a good while, we presume the neighbors do as well, and we don’t want to start off on the wrong foot. We just don’t want anyone (except us) shooting on our property.
Is Mrs Dr over-reacting? Am I under-reacting? TIA…
