12 x 30 corn planter - Plant 36 rows or 90'

I am strongly considering planting 48 rows or 120' next year. Went auto steer on the corn planter and 120' will give me more room to get on the line.
Also 48 will match the 8 row combine, 36 doesn't.

On soybeans I plant 80' or 100'. Planter is 15 row of 16" 20' on the money. A comman 8 row 15" planter is 18'-9"
With wheels both in front and behind the bar it will berm if turned short.
Also in the old lightbar days. They were not good at second pass headlands then. I went off the inside of the headland to drive the second pass spraying.
Now with the better GPS systems and the auto steer, the second headland pass while spraying is not a problem. I may be going back to 80' head of headlands on beans. Beans will not be planted with auto steer.

I cannot understand why people complaint about taking a long time to pick the headlands.
Just make the first pass. Then go around the field clockwise until done.

I really got on my renters this year for planting 60' in corn.
They were stopping and backing up on most turns.
36 row would have been much easier and faster.
