This is probably the best thread on stock talk I have seen. I was thinking in all the years my Dad handled bawling calves he always stressed the most important thing for claves is to get them drinking plenty off water after weaning, He always said most calves are used to round water tanks that are in pastures. He always had a big tank in the yard with hose running it so the cattle could see it.Rack load off prarie hay or brome. He said dehydration leads to sickness when calves get run down from the stress of weaning. The new shots any more are amazing in how they work an gwet the job done. As crazy as it may seem if we had a couple off inches off rain in these yards that would eliminate the dust factor which is rough on them. Calves start milling around around sundown an bawling like crazy an breathing in that dust. Great input from you guys really learned alot here. I am going to keep this thread for future reference
