Cullom, Illinois | Most 4wd tractors should have around 105# per HP. 450HP = 47250#. Plus they want 60% front and 40% rear. Go weigh the tractor! I'm amazed at how many people don't do this. The book can be way off. You should also have between 8-10% slip. Less than that you have too much weight and it's hard on the drive train. More than that and your spinning out causing loss of traction and power. Once you have the weight right, if your slip is too high, move the weight to the front. If you power hop, move some weight to the rear. Pump the tires up to the minimum needed to carry the weight and adjust from there. Hope this helps. | |
