central Indiana | lots of articles about eugene smith, Lebanon, Indiana. May start with his untimely death by electrocution on an island he would up on in his last days of farming. some say he still had a million bushels of corn in the old fed res program he was hiding fron the feds in old warhouses in kentucky. At his peak he was buying or selling a farm a week and farmed 5,000 near lebaon, 5000 in Mississpi and 5000 at the Goose pond Farm in Green county , southern Indiana
may try archives of Indiana prairie farmer or there were many in the Indianapolis Star
Ps...his undoing was not much different than ILLFF...to big, too fast, interest rates jumped to high teens on operating money, bailed on some farms bought on contract, stiffed the local coopfor a million on fert etc
