WC MN | Agree with the NE guys, keep cover in row and low pop. Consider adding 2x2 fertilizer openers to your planter, you can put enough NPKZ an inch or two away from the seed in enough quantity to overcome residue. We have had success planting into residue like that in old pasture that had outstanding internal drainage from 50 years of root accumulation. As others have noted tile helps, corn doesn't like wet feet at that stage. | |
