Subject: Re: Wheat planted back to back

Marion,ks
We live in central Kansas. We have had one field in continous wheat since 1974. Greg's dad cut the corn sileage in fall of 74 and planted wheat and has been in wheat ever since. Very little cheat. Our other fields have been in continous wheat for a long time also. We sometimes do exotic things to the wheat stubble as burning it. Helps with the weed and disease pressure and is also cheap. We have some neighbors with some continous wheat that all they do is spray the stubble, burn it usually in August, and field cultivate then plant. This year, we have about 1200 acres total, and we worked about half the stubble in and burn half of it. Hopes this help.
