Southern Louisiana | Personally, I would get a Yuma (original model) off of eBay for under $2,000. Get an aftermarket Bluetooth keyboard and wireless mouse and you can run just about anything (desktop or mobile software). Screen size is a bit smaller than a laptop, but its tough and compact enough to bring around with you. And the hard drive is solid state with no moving parts. No need to worry about hard drive failures. It's processing speed is a little slower than newer laptops, but if I want to crunch some serious numbers on a lot of data points - or need a bigger screen, I have it hooked up to our home wireless network so when I drive in the driveway, the unit stays in my truck. I can pull my data files off it over the network and work with them in the office. Can send files back to the Yuma as well.
It may not work for everyone, but I love it. But that's just a personal opinion. I am sure others would disagree. | |
