If you need another straight truck that would be a good truck. The M-11 is a very good fuel efficient motor with plenty of power for what you are doing(there are thousands of them on the roads as tractor trailers so you will have lots of power) at 900,000 miles it is a long way from being wore out.The Freightliner air ride is the only one that is just as stable in straight truck mode as a it is as a highway truck.A friend had a International air ride with a potato body ( holds about 35,000 lbs. full) that he was scared to drive fully loaded because it would lean over so far, I got him to put that body on the same truck as you are looking at and he is very pleased because it now goes down the road the same as his other trucks with Henderson spring but it rides so much better that he now uses that truck much more than the other ones.Do not worry about needing a double frame because there are hundreds of old highway trucks that are now straight trucks around here and no one has problems with the frame..The Freightliner also has a aluminum cab so it will not rust out like your old Ford plus it also has a much much better electrical ,and HAAC system than other trucks. If the truck looks good and the price is right I would go for it.Also that truck could have a fifth wheel put back on and use it with a trailer in the future if you want to.
