| I've probably been a little hard on you in this thread. Our 55 Cat when we purchased it was a low houred, near perfect machine from a home where it was taken care of like your tractors are. In the last 1000 hours or so on the clock, it has broken clutch packs in the transmission two separate times to the tune of pert near $30k in parts, not to mention the downtime involved. Completely unpredictable, not caused by lack of care or maintenance, and maybe Michael Miller can pipe in here with his expertise, but he was a Cat tech for ten years and has never seen this happen once to a tractor, let alone twice. So, currently, my mood is a little bit sour about buying a machine with the idea that its outer appearance is any sort of indicator of its future reliability.
