S Illinois
What are the shipping times from the U.S. to China? The reason I ask is because the China import data is from Oct. If soybeans are unloaded into China is there not lead time involved and if so does that not put us into Sept to load out soybeans from the U.S. With harvest just getting started I would assume actual exports would be small. Looking at U.S. export from this past year, our shipments did not start dropping off to china until March, 30-45 days after harvest started in Brazil. I would say the Oct. China import data is more of a report timing issue than of sale trends. Now if this continues into Nov-Dec. then we should be worried.
