I was talking to the well guy when he was replacing a pump a couple of years ago. I was wanting to somehow build a French drain well pit next to my creek to backup my well if it went dry or broke down. He was saying something like creek water is "clean" if it isnt you can have recourse on upstream property owners. I guess the point is dont pollute, which goes back to manure and spraying applications.
