No I don't agree. I could agree but the OP is unclear about that. The OP does say "The sister wants to keep her half of the ground." One can interpute that to mean the sister owns 1000 acres and the brother owns 1000 acres. That is how I interputed the situation when I first read the original post. I can see where it can be interputed to mean the brother owned some ground and the father owned some ground and then upon the death of the father the brother and sister each get half of the fathers share. The OP did not say nor imply that the brother and father were equal partners in the 2000 acres. The father could have owned 1900 acres and the brother 100 acres the OP is not clear on that. It is possible that the mother and father owned 2000 acres and upon the death of the mother her half went to the son and upon the death of the father his half or the original 2000 acres goes to the daughter. The OP is unclear on this. Again I default (rightly or wrongly) to "The sister wants to keep her half of the ground."
