I'd be leery about depending on a fire proof safe to protect any data you have stored on hard drives. Temps within the safe can still reach levels high enough to damage drives. When I was shopping for my safe I was told by multiple dealers that even in a fire proof safe that paper documents can be damaged by heat, plastics will melt etc... just that temps won't get high enough for things to self ignite. So you wooden gun stalk will get baked dry. cd/dvds with data on them can melt into a blob, paper will become discoloured etc. They all recommended having multiple copies of data stored in multiple locations.
