Elkmont, AL | 97 model CIH 2155 and 96 model JD 9965, I like the green one better, heads are way simpler and require less maintanance. That said I'm probably going to sell at least the red one or maybe both and go to one green six row. I figure by this spring there could be some really cheap 6 row basket pickers. It kind of gets to be a traveling circus with the two pickers, boll buggy, builder, stalk cutter, etc. In good cotton the builder can't keep up with the two four rows. Your right the fat lady was getting warmed up around the forth of July on the cotton and beans, but what a turn around. I'll still plant some cotton next year although I'll be one of just a handful in my county. I'm also in the broiler chicken business and don't have to buy fertilizer so the economics are a little different on cotton for me. | |
